Brian Kellett's cancer fund

Brian first noticed a lump on his neck back in December. It didn't go away so he went to the doctor in January. They did some blood work and sent him for a ultrasound. It looked suspicious so he was sent for a CAT scan. That in turn sent him to the ENT doctor who did a biopsy. The biopsy was "suspicious " so he was sent for a PET scan. He had the PET scan and then had to have a tonsillectomy and tongue biopsy. Still nothing conclusive so he went for a second opinion at Mass Eye and Ear in Boston and had another scope poke and prod and another biopsy. This final biopsy was suspicious, but it showed the HPV virus which is what made the conclusive diagnosis of Squamous Cell Carcinoma with unknown primary HPV+. Technical term ... SCC T0NXM0 HPV+.  His prognosis looks good.

It's imperative that all major dental work be done before having radiation to the jaw, so he had to have three teeth removed and one crown before he could start treatment.
He is now undergoing 7 rounds of chemo and 36 radiation treatments over a seven week period. Including travel costs and lost time from work, Brian and Andrea have accumulated approximately $15k in expenses that are NOT covered by insurance.

Brian is a musician and loves to play guitar and sing for fun as well as for a second income. He and his wife Andrea have two teenage boys living with them,  Sean is 16 and Jacob is 15. Brian has two grown children, Sean is 26 and Amy is almost 30. Brian is staying with Amy during the 7 weeks while he is receiving treatments because she lives much closer to Boston.
