Bring Craft Beer to Van Wert

The Beginning:
Like most tales of epic partnership and entrepreneurial spirit, this one begins in a garage. In the summer of 2016, Andrew Watkins began brewing mead, as a simple experimentation in zymurgy (the workings of fermentation). As friends and family tried his creations, he was inspired, along with his inventive cousin, to branch out into brewing beers. The experimentation snowballed, in the fashion of most great ideas, and along the way the Whiskey Wednesday Brew Club was born.
Each member brings something different to the creative efforts of what is now the High Five Brewing Company, but the vision for the future is unified. High Five Brewing Company aspires to be the go-to authority on local craft brews. Though several members of the Company branched out to different parts of the country, or served our country on other continents, they all found their way back to Van Wert.
It’s this location and their combined passion for high quality craft beer that created this business, and now they want to share that passion with the community, and you. Van Wert is on the cusp of another Golden Era, and they want to be a part of ushering it in. This business will unite beer connoisseurs and amteurs alike.
The Vision:
Though this business started in a garage, that’s certainly not where it will end. The Company aspires to own a commercial property, right here in Van Wert, where they will design, craft, and brew beer using locally owned and sourced ingredients. In this same property, they will sell the product to any who wish to indulge in a refreshing beverage.

Donations will go toward the legal costs of starting a business, purchasing and upgrading equipment, obtaining supplies, and buying a building to house it all.
