Brett Perry Speed Skater

For all of my followers and those of you reading this for the first time, this is an update on my Speedskating journey.  


My name is Brett Perry. I am originally from Midland Michigan.  I have been a high performance speedskater for a big part of my life.  I am at a point of my career where I am poised to take my skills to the very top level of the sport.  This past skating season I continued to work to bring my abilities up to an elite level.  I had the most success ever, continuing to improve my times and along the way being named to a US World Cup Team roster, and also coming one spot away from making the National Team in the 2018 US Olympic Long Track Trials.
As a result of my performance, US Speedskating has invited me to be a member of the 2018-19 National Long Track Racing Program.  I have accepted this position and with it the benefits of training under the US Coaching Team with the very top speedskaters in the US at the Olympic Oval Training Facility in Salt Lake City Utah.  This will also allow me to have my ice fees and coaching costs waived along with physical trainers weight lifting trainers and nutritional supervision and supplements.  These are benefits that I have been working for many years to achieve.


But there are still many expenses that are not compensated under the terms of my Athlete Agreement with the National Governing Body as I accept this commitment to compete on an International level for the United States.  All living expenses including room and board, equipment costs, including skating boots and blades, a new training bicycle, and most of my travel is still my responsibility.  This is the challenge that I now face and another reason that I have offered up this post.  I ask that you will help me with a donation of any kind to keep me moving forward to achieving my full potential as a Long Track Speedskater.  


My thanks to so many of you who have made previous donations.  Please know that your support has gotten me to this point and I am most grateful for all that you have done for me both financially and emotionally.  I hope to continue to make you proud, from my family in Michigan and Florida and to those that have helped mold my career from my first coaches and supporters in the Midland Speedskating Club, to Marquette MI and the US Olympic Training Center , to the Pettit Center in Milwaukee and now for the past few years at the US Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City.  I will work hard every day to earn your support and I promise to keep you up to date with my progress as we enter the next Olympic cycle.
