Hello Everyone,
My name is Andrew Paulikas - father of 14 year old Brandon. I am asking for your help, prayers and support for our family (Andrew, mom Barbara, big sister Alyssa, and Brandon)
Brandon has been diagnosed with Precursor B-CELL Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL). His diagnosis has shaken our lives to the core. There is a long road ahead (3 Years) of Chemo Therapy, Maintenance, Blood Tests and Travel to and from the hospital weekly.
I'd like to tell you about Brandon and hope you will love him as his family, friends, and community does. Brandon is the typcial ALL AMERICAN kid - loves sports, video games, and hanging with his friends. Brandon always has a smile on his face and brings joy to any room that he is in. People gravitate to him and enjoy his company. Brandon is a member of the West Orange High School Football Team (Go Warriors). Brandon has a dream to be back on the Football Field and play Defensive End with the hopes of attending college. He seems to be following the footsteps of his older sister Alyssa - West Orange Cheerleader and FSU student. Brandon is destined to be in the sport industry - do not know in what capacity but his love and knowledge of sport, people and community makes sense.
The night we found out about his diagnosis, I had spent the night at the hospital with him and he and I were sitting on the bed talking - his strenght and courage left me in awe. As I hugged him he whispered in my ear, "IS MOM GOING TO BE OK - I'M WORRIED ABOUT HER". Brandon displaying his carrying and selfless side going through the fight of his life at an early age and all he is worried about is his mom.
This diagnosis certainly made me angry at the start. However, knowing what we are dealing with has provided the ability to create a plan of attack. Get the best possible care for him and ensure WHEN WE BEAT THIS - THAT IS FOR GOOD!
In the last week my life has changed in the most profound way - I have found a peace and have put my heart and life in God's hands. During this situation: I have witnessed a MIRACLE (BrandonPStrong). The faith, prayers, and support from the community have been overwhelming.
I will never be able to thank each and everyone one of you for those prayers and support. I know that there is power in numbers and I ask that you please share with all your friends. My goal is to hit as many people as possible.
