single father out of work

Hello friends, as you may or may not know, I am a single loving father with full custody of my son Brandin. He is my everything and I don't want to see him suffer thru my misfortune. I recently injured my back at work and am now physically unable to perform my job. I am hopeful to get back on my feet again soon, but the light at the end of the tunnel is just a spec right now. The X-Rays showed a severe curvature of my spine, and I was diagnosed with "S" Scoliosis.  Basically my spine looks like a roller coaster.  Furthur testing and MRI requires authorization from my primary care physician, so I could not have it done at the ER at the time of X-Ray.  The next step is to go to an orthopedic specialist to see if there are bulging discs, etc and hopefully there is a procedure to fix it all. I live in pain everyday. It's early yet but I have a long tough road ahead of me.  The medical bills will start to add up and now, and without an income, so far I have been denied workers comp, I cannot provide food(which I'm very low on) for the table or clothes for my son, money for the rent and other bills, nevermind anything else in life we need money for..I once thought I reached my lowest point in life but now this seems to top it all...never take life for granted people because one day it can all change for the worse..believe me, I'm a living example...
I take pride in my independence, I'm not one to ask for help, and I know everyone has their troubles, but when it comes to my son, I will do what is necessary, and so this is me asking for a little help from my friends...
