Imagine waking up with a migraine so painful that the light hurts your eyes, imagine having trouble speaking at times, imagine going to work and having a seizure that you end up in hospital only to be told that you have a brain tumor. And this is not any tumor but one that is known to be the most aggressive natured cancer.
Tijen is a beautiful 25 year old young lady, full of life, an intelligent girl with the greatest sense of humor who spreads joy to everyone she meets. Loved by so many, a caring and loving daughter, the sweetest sister and aunty to her nieces. She had her whole life ahead of her, she was studying at university, newly engaged, she was full of hopes and dreams for a future as all young people would hope. This is her story......
After her condition progressed, numerous tests were conducted, long hospital waits, and surgeries, she has been diagnosed with a rare form of one of the most deadliest and aggressive forms of brain cancer known as Stage Four Glioblastoma. This type cancer means that her tumor grows and spreads very quickly throughout the brain.
This life threatening illness, limits her from enjoying her life with her family. She is no longer able to work or go to university. After undergoing a painful brain surgery, countless radiation therapy and chemotherapy unfortunately her tumor has grown in size. After all the tears, pain and heart ache our only hope is for her to have another brain surgery with a good surgeon. Our hope is for him to remove most of the tumor to help Tijen have a better chance at life.
Many of us have offered to help her but as she is a loving and caring person always thinking of others she has refused this help. However, as we are all well aware having an illness comes with great expenses. Countless test, scans, consultations, medications, treatments and even the surgery itself can cost up to hundreds of thousands of dollars. We are also now hopeful of Tijen going overseas to get a special type of treatment that is not available here if we are able to raise enough money. I had suggested to open up this go fund me page to help this beautiful soul in the hope that she can get the best treatment to help her live the best life she can.
