Boriken Needs a Leg Brace

Boriken came to us from Puerto Rico a few weeks ago.  He was injured by a car and was having difficulty walking.  His x-rays revealed some fractures of his hips and an orthopedic specialist recommended cage rest, with short walks, a harness to help with standing, and management with anti-inflammatories.  The hope was that he would start to use his leg more and when the inflammation improved he would stop dragging his leg.  His walking improved and he now stands on his on and does well walking but he still drags one leg.  Therefore the orthopedic specialist is recommending a leg brace which will keep his foot in place and allow him to walk without injuring and scraping his foot.    This sweet one year old looks forward to his daily therapy walks and has been so wonderful to everyone despite his challenges.  This brace will make a huge difference and will be fitted for him.  It will prevent injury, and give him the mobility he wants.  One hundred percent of your tax-deductible donation will be used for the brace and includes fitting.  We appreciate everything you do to help our residents overcome obstacles so they can go on to great homes and families who love them.   Please give whatever you can and share this so your friends and family can help too.
