Do you like the photo for this campaign? I absolutely adore it. But without a new camera I can neither take pictures nor tell their stories like the one below.

This photo was taken during a tremendously hot and humid day in an old triple decker colonial in New Orleans Ninth Ward this past May. The lovely artist, Athenae, flew 4,500 miles from Scotland to sit in front of a blazing sunny window whilst a house full of other artists and photographers, 30 in total, shot in the same room, upstairs, on the third floor and in the kitchen. All the while Athenae was shooting with Caustix the entire house was buzzing with food, drink, cheer (both literal and drink related) creating the uniquely uplifting and unwaveringly strong atmosphere of support that only a SG Shootfest could provide.

It was a grand experience. One of hundreds I've been privileged to photographically and literally document. For the past four years I've been creating an extensive portfolio of Behind the Scenes (BTS) shots from all over the country. I've worked with over 30 professional models and nearly as many other photographers to show you how much blood sweat and pain goes into making a photoshoot come to life. I've done all of this completely pro bono and been absolutely honored to do so. Why? I did it because the story deserves to be told.

Due to an unfortunate turn of events I am presently in need of a new camera and lenses. The funds gathered here will be used exclusively for the purchase of a new Canon EOS 77D kit.

Remaining funds will be utilized for getting my work back on its feet in the form of accessories such as memory cards, light rigs, lenses and other exclusively photography related items.

I would like to ask all your help in securing funding for a new camera and kit as soon as possible. This way I can jump right back into shooting and make it all worth your generosity.

Your gift will not only mean the world to me, but will mean indescribably more to the women and photographers who's stories I am documenting. They finally get to see the other side of the shoot. They get to have their own piece of a raw, candid, and genuine moment in their professional history; something the photographer and model almost never get to see.

Thank you so much for your generous consideration. I look very much forward to making your contribution worthwhile as soon as possible.

Cheers,
Chris
