This year, our focus is to change the lives of children in Liberia by donating thousands of books.
During the 14 year civil conflict in Liberia, 80 % of schools were destroyed or damaged. The wars ended in 2003, but left long-lasting effects. To this day, many schools don't have roofs, furniture, or supplies. An assesment in 2004 showed that only 24% of children in public primary school had desks, and there were 27 children to each book! We are determined to change that.
Mid 2017 we will start collecting thousands of books to ship, but first, we must secure the funds for storage, shipping, customs, securirty, and distribution.
We have already raised $10,000! We are now trying to bring in our last $6,000. Our deadline is March 2017.
As with all of our past projects, there is strength in numbers. We need your help. Please join us on this journey to make a difference!
