Amy's Literacy Service Trip

Donation protected
Hello. My name is Amy Moskovitz and I am a teacher and graduate student pursuing my Master's in library and information science.

I have been selected to travel to Guatemala this April with Librarians Without Borders. This is quite an honor as only 15-18 people are chosen nationwide.

We will be working with a school in Quetzaltenango (Xela) to promote literacy and learning in an underprivilaged community. Librarians Without Borders notes that "by creating a community library in Xela to serve students, their families and members of the community, we aim to foster a love of reading and promote education." Fostering a love of and passion for literacy and education is very important to me. I have dedicated the last 10 years of my career to working in public schools and I am honored to have the opportunity to work with the children and families in Xela to this end.

The money raised in this campaign will fund my travel and housing expenses for the service trip. Any contribution you can give will be greatly appreciated. Please know your generous donation will be used to help me promote literacy and education in Guatemala and will bring a smile to the faces and a book in the hands of the children of Xela. Thank you for your support.
