Art is my life story! I moved back south in 2012 to pursue bonsai hunting on family land with one risky back up plan, sell art in the French Quarter. My budget for "Bonsai Hunters" ran dry and in 2014 I had no choice, but to hit the streets and make sales. I was hungry and it was my only hope of making a quick buck. I headed to the Quarter to sell my drawings. I had enough talent to start with nothing but a blank post card and a pencil. Sales slowly progressed and in time I was able to rent an apt. on Royal St. It was the most empowering and creative occupation I've ever had, nontheless I had to move back west to tend to my redwood trees and help my mom pay her rent. Its been wonderful, yet very expensive to return to Califorinia.
Now I'm strugling to return to my work making and selling art outside in the community. That's why my mom and I are asking you to help fund our start up cost at the new Berkeley St. Art Market! I relocated to the S.F. East Bay last spring and I began making bonsai pots. My mom instructed me on how to work with clay. I quickly fell in love with the process. Now mom paints the bonsai pots and she's teaching me tecniques with glaze as well. This is a blessing for my trees, uniting us as a mother and son team!
Now all we need to do is get out in the communtiy to push our work. That's where your help comes in. Join our team by making a donation today! With your help we'll be able to purchase the permits and supplies required to get started. It should cost no more than $1000 and as soon as we have enough to perchase permits, we will! Our display will intrigue every passing pedestrian. They will enjoy seeing us demonstrate how to pot and shape small bonsai trees and want to have one. They'll walk away stoked with a bonsai in hand! Everyone they pass on the street and on the Bart rail will wonder what and where that special little tree came from? We'll also work on various small handcrafted items, like clay jewlery, figurines, tiles, mosaics, drawings, and paintings!
Our primary objective is to produce, sell, and promote art that is directly related to "Bonsai Hunters", (BHS). My personal goal is to quickly create a way for my mom to earn a steady income and to have fun making new friends and clients in our communtiy! Its essential for me to help my mom. I'll also film a daly video blog to document our progress. You'll witness and promote what your donations created by watching our videos or by visiting us in person! Help us live out our dreams of becoming succsessful well known artist. My mom deserves a chance to let her creativity run wild and recieve instant recognition and to be free of debt. She worked so hard to raise 4 children on her own, now lets help her enjoy life! Upon donations and request we will send you a token of our appreciation. Believe in us and donate whatever you can.
