Bobby Yarbrough Medical Costs

Back Story

About 5 years ago, Bobby was told his one and only kidney was failing. Thankfully, with the help of hemodialysis, everything has been pretty stable. He went from going to a clinic three times a week for 4 hours each day, to being able to do at-home dialysis. This has been much more comforting and convenient for him and his wife, Karen.

Earlier this year, the catheter which distributes his treatment started to cause an infection. This has landed him in the hospital almost every month of 2019, sometimes several times within a month. His most recent hospitalization, on August 4th, he had to undergo an emergency surgery, which resulted in most of his small intestine having to be removed.

About Bobby

Bobby is a great father, husband, son, brother and friend! He has had such a positive attitude despite everything that has happened to him recently.

He has four daughters, Jordan (25), Taylor (24), Audrey (20) and Natalie (19), who he thinks the world of and would do anything for. While in college, he has helped all of them out financially, despite his own financial burdens, so that they could focus on school. He has always been so giving, without ever asking for anything in return, and that goes for anyone and anything!

He has also been happily married to Karen for almost 10 years. They have gone through a lifetime of events between Bobby's kidney failure and Karen battling (and beating!) breast cancer in 2017. They have been each other's support during these life-changing events, and they are executing their vows "in sickness and in health" in a way that most people could never imagine.

Bobby loves to hunt, fish and be in the great outdoors, but because of his frequent dialysis treatments, his time spent outdoors and doing what he loves is limited. His hospitalizations have made it even harder, but he continues to be positive.

How this will help

These very frequent hospitalizations have been very trying for the Yarbrough family. We just want him home and healthy so he can get better for a possible kidney transplant.

If you wish to donate, all the proceeds will be going to Bobby's medical expenses from the last few months. Anything will help to alleviate the financial stress and allow Bobby to focus on getting better for his wife, daughters and family. Since Karen has been staying with him at the hospital every day, she is unable to work as much as she usually does, and this emergency surgery has really taken a toll on everyone.
