Hello my name is Barbara Jones, I am 66 years old. I was married for 30 years and have two sons. I recently lost my husband in 2016 and it has been difficult without him. Every year since our retirement we ran a farmers stand serving the community of Walkersville,MD. It was our livelihood and a way for us to make a supplemental income, while doing what we loved. Gardening! I did my best to continue to keep my husband's memory alive by running the stand for the last two years. Unfortunately with the medical issues I've been having I may not be able to run the stand this spring and summer, I'm still hoping to do it the latter half of the season if I heal in time!
On November 9th, 2018 I was going to Sinai hospital to have a scheduled knee revision surgery on my left knee. A successful operation was done and I was sent to a skilled facility for physical therapy in my home town of Walkersville, MD. I completed my physical therapy there and was sent home just a few days before Christmas. Then on January 4th, 2019 I was answering the door at my home and missed the bottom step and I came crashing down. I hit the landing and fractured my femur. I had to be taken back down to Sinai hospital to be operated on for my femur now. After recovering there for five days, I was sent back to the nursing home in Walkersville. Unfortunately I developed an infection in the wound which required heavy antibiotics, which I'm currently still taking. I had to stay in and out of the nursing home for a total of five months while the infection was coming and going. My journey to recovery has been difficult and hard at times, especially being on a fixed income. Unfortunately without having a second income I've found it very difficult to keep up with the medical expenses unpaid by Medicare. I am not normally someone who finds it easy to ask for help, however I really do need it. A good friend of mine suggested I try a gofund me account. So here I am. If you could find it your heart's to even just give a little, it will go a long way. I appreciate any and all support. Thank you kindly and God Bless!
Sincerely,
Barbara
