Preserving Public Waldorf Education

Tax deductible

Now more then ever we need to invest in our children, for in them lies our future.  We must nurture them, inspire them, and build in them capacities which prepare them to go into the world as strong, grounded, compassionate thinkers, who can imagine new ideas, new solutions, and help our world become a better place.

This is what Blue Oak School is doing for our local children and what Waldorf Education is doing for the world!

This year we have come together to try and raise $60,000 this school year to compensate for budget shortfalls.  Currently, inside our school community we have raised almost $57,000 toward helping us preserve our public Waldorf programs.

We are passionate about making sure this unique educational opportunity, offering a well balanced education featuring the fine arts, science, music, movement and play, is avaialable to all children, regardless of their socioeconomic background.

We are hopeful the extended community will offer their support to ensure we can maintain a  free Public Waldorf School for our local children.  About half of the families we serve now are of low socioeconomic status, and not every family has the means to contribute financially.  Please consider what you can contribute to support our our local children, so they can grow into thoughtful, ethical, and imaginative human beings.

To understand more, I highly recommend you watch the video "Waldorf-100"  to grasp the sheer magnitude of the global movement to bring Waldorf Education to children all over the world!

My story as a parent at Blue Oak

About 9 years ago I toured Blue Oak and it affected me deeply.  My heart swelled with emotion and I knew no matter what my chldren were going to this school.  I saw happy children.  They were: singing, playing, moving, smiling, playing violins, and engaging with their teachers and classmates with joy and respect. Absolutely everything was centered around the children.  There needs were first.  And not just their educational needs, but their emotional needs.

I knew in my heart, it was the only school prepared to care for my child’s whole well being; a place where not only her mind would develop, but also a safe place where her heart would be cared for.  Here she would have a well-rounded experience where she would have the opportunity to not just learn academic subject matter, music, and art, but also she would be instilled with self-knowledge and who she wants to be in the world.

She is now 13 years old and has been at Blue Oak, Kindergarten through 7th Grade.  She is  happy, kind, confident and capable. She excels at academics, but also knows how to sing, read music, play the violin, paint, draw, and speak in public.  More importantly, she knows how to be, she knows who she is.  She understands empathy, compassion, kindness, and hard work.

Parents, faculty and staff,  please share your comments and stories about what Blue Oak means to you! And help spread the word and share this campaign with your family and friends!

Thank you!  Any amount big or small will help us!
