Blue Ridge Young Birders Fundraiser

Donation protected
We are a group of young birders from both the Piedmont and Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia who share a passion for birds, photography, conservation and everything and anything else to do with wild birds and nature!

We take regular field trips to local and distant places. We also participate in conservation and citizen science projects such as the Chimney Swift Tower that we built at Ivy Creek Natural Area, Project Feeder Watch, The Great Backyard Bird Count, Christmas Bird Count, Nightjar Survey, and the Rockingham County Raptor and Waterfowl Survey. We maintain and monitor Bluebird Trails at Piedmont Community College in Charlottesville, and in the Shenandoah Valley.

Each year for our annual fundraiser we hold the "January Challenge" where as a group we try to see as many bird species as possible in the month of January.  We collect pledges per species seen or a flat rate donation.  All funds collected support our educational programs, community outreach, field trips and club administrative fees.  We ask that you consider supporting our club so that we can continue exploring our passion for birds and our commitment to conservation.
