Blessed to be a blessing mission trip 2019

Mental illness is very prevalent in South Africa, yet the country lacks many of the necessary resources. For a large number in our society who live with challenging mental health problems, gardening and community food growing can be especially beneficial.
I am raising money to be a part of this project to plant Gardens of Hope in South Africa. The issues we are tackling are close to my heart, as I know from personal experience how fragile our minds can be, and how important it can be to have someone come alongside you to help and support with projects like this.
In April of 2014 I went to South Africa on Mission to be part of a team who helped to construct a multi functional building out of shipping containers for the local community. This experience had a huge impact on my life and left me wanting to do more both at home and in developing countries. Due to life circumstances and health issues it looked and felt as if this was going to be my first and last mission.
5 years later I attended a talk given by BTBAB (Blessed To Be A Blessing) www.btbab.org who have been involved in humanitarian work, helping to build orphanages and schools, youth mission as well as taking encouragement to the underground churches in nations otherwise closed to the gospel. In addition to taking teams out on missions, they undertake several projects and initiatives to empower the poor and reverse the cycle of poverty in the developing world.
To be given the opportunity to go on mission means everything, I had given up all hope that I would be blessed and a blessing to others. I truly believed that door had been closed but here I am, hopefully going back to South Africa where it all started. I am so overwhelmed and full of gratitude to be asked to join in this life changing experience.
The mission trip is planned for the 14th-28th October 2019 with mandatory training on the 5th-8th September. Any money donated will be used towards funding admin fees, training, flights, travel insurance and living expenses.
I appreciate that many people ask for support but if you feel you could help with this project, by praying, sharing and if able to donate that would be a blessing.
