All Male Ballet Takes on Racism

Since it's establishment in 2003, Oasis Dance Collective has continued to  develop professional artists, foster positive feelings of self-identity among peoples of the African Diaspora, and raise public consciousness about the value of this culture. It is our hope that we can depend on you for financial support of our efforts to share our vision with the people of this country. 


Our upcoming project “Black Leaves,” an all-African-American male ballet premiering Winter 2018, portrays the collective voices of men within the Black community while revealing the common threads of their experience through the integrated media of film, dance, and poetry.


Please consider donating $10 or more; towards our goal of $10,000 to make this project a reality. After decades of marches, protests, riots, current events, statistics, and the social climate nationally, Black Leaves is a project that has been built to bring together & heal a Community .

As President Lyndon B. Johnson remarked at the signing of the bill establishing the National Foundation for the Arts and Humanities, “Art is a nation’s most precious heritage. For it is in our works of art that we reveal to ourselves and to others the inner vision which guides us as a nation. And where there is no vision, the people perish.”
