Our goal is to premiere BLACK HAWK DOWN: The Untold Story at the 25th anniversary commemoration of the "Battle in Mogadishu" at Ft Drum NY in October 2018. We hope to reach our fund raising goal by August 2018 to ensure the highest quality production--to include computer-generated imagery and original musical score.

This documentary film will tell the story of the heroic efforts of the soldiers from the 2nd Battalion 14th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division (2-14) and their mission to rescue 99 men from Task Force Ranger who were surrounded by more than 1,000 well-armed hostile forces in Mogadishu, Somalia. These men demonstrated extraordinary courage, skill, and discipline as they fought their way into a “baited ambush” to rescue the special operations forces pinned down at the crash site of Super Six-One while also attempting a rescue at the crash site of Super Six-Four. Two soldiers from the 2-14 were killed and eighteen wounded in what many have described as the most ferocious urban combat since the Battle for Huế during the Tet Offensive in 1968.

Randall Larsen Presents  has produced a series of documentary films telling the stories of unsung heroes.  The fund raising goal for Black Hawk Down: The Untold Story  is less than one-quarter of a typical one-hour TV documentary. This is possible because a lot of work has already been completed with self-funding, and we have no profit built into our budget. (We define success for our films as telling great stories about American heroes without losing too much money.)

Randall Larsen Presents, LLC and C3 Entertainment, Inc. proudly announce the forthcoming release of Black Hawk Down: The Untold Story.

Black Hawk Down: The Untold Story is a feature-length documentary highlighting the heroic actions of the soldiers from Task Force 2-14 (10th Mountain Division). These soldiers demonstrated extraordinary courage, skill, and discipline as they fought their way through the streets of Mogadishu, and into a “baited ambush” to rescue the 99 men from Task Force Ranger who were surrounded by more than 1,000 well-armed hostile forces. Two soldiers from Task Force 2-14 were killed and eighteen wounded in what was described as the most ferocious urban combat since the Battle of Huế during the Tet Offensive in 1968. Nevertheless, courageous leadership combined with intense preparation and training prior to deploying to Somalia, enabled the soldiers of Task Force 2-14 to successfully complete their mission.

Twenty-five years after the battle, their story is finally being told.

Randall Larsen’s previous productions include: Wounded Warrior Resilience (Audience Favorite Award at the 2011 Virginia Film Festival), Operation Whitecoat (the story of 2,300 non-combatant, conscientious objectors who participated in U. S. Army biodefense medical experiments during the Cold War), and If Not Me, Then Who? (the story of Dr. Lewis Rubinson’s experience in a Sierra Leone hospital during the Ebola outbreak of 2014).
