Hello! We are starting a print and ceramics cooperative in Central Falls called Binch Press and we would love your help! There are currently 7 of us: Dailen, Dana, Katie, Pep, Mer, Trina and Tycho. We are leasing a beautiful ~2100 sqft mill building space and have accumulated lots of fun equipment, but we need more people and funding to make this work. We are excited to show you all we have built, invite you to get involved, and work together to envision a future for this place. Please help us spread the word and/or consider giving. We will be announcing lots of fun perks and rewards soon!
WORKING MISSION
Binch Press works to create a supportive informal learning space open to anyone. We are a cooperative of queer/trans folks and POC who share a printshop and ceramics studio in Central Falls, Rhode Island. We work to center artists whose identities instersect with multiple axes of marginalization, including class, disability, mental illness, race, age, religion, immigration status, indigeneity, gender/sexuality, carceral history, and experiences of violence/trauma. Binch Press strives to challenge the barriers to access put up by traditional art institutions and exclusive artists collectives alike. We are not bound by a founding membership of ideology; our priorities and projects will evolve with the needs and desires of our changing membership.
FINANCIAL PICTURE
Funding will give us the capital to complete outfitting the studio and subsidize our rent for the next year. Your support will make the space affordable to all. Below is a rough estimate of our monthly expenses:

CERAMICS CONSUMABLES............$245

~~Where does the money go?~~
We want to make Binch Press an affordable art space. Money from this GoFundMe campaign will help ensure a sliding scale model for members. We are asking perspective members to think about how much they are able to pay for access to the space. Some tangible studio costs are listed below:
$0-20 (equivalent to studio upkeep and tidiness)
$20-$40 (equivalent to emulsion and/or newsprint for one month)
$40-$60 (equivalent to clay for one month)
$60-$100 (equivalent to firing the kiln once per month)
TIMELINE
November 10: Fundraiser launch
December 1: Membership sign up
January (mid): Functional space!
Late February/Early March: Deliver rewards/perks
