Help Rev. Bill Underwood's Family in Los Angeles

$2,075 of $3,500 goal

Raised by 28 people in 3 months
We are raising funds to help Bill Underwood’s family as they stay in Los Angeles while Bill is at a Hospital waiting for a Heart Transplant and Recovery. The hospital has told the family that after Bill has Heart Surgery that he and his family will have to remain in Los Angeles for a month or longer to continue his appointments after he is released. The family is looking at staying in Los Angeles for at least 3 months or longer depending on the availability of a heart.

Many people have reached out through prayers and emotional support during this difficult time. Bill has toured and ministered for almost 45 years as an original member of The Lighthouse Boys and with his wife Sharon Underwood. Bill and Sharon have been Pastors of two Churches in their years of ministry, the second Church they still pastor today; Calvary Gospel Tabernacle is located in Bakersfield, CA just a couple of miles from where Bill Underwood grew up.

Bill & Sharon have prayed for anyone who calls, and have driven over 100 miles to help others. Rev. Bill Underwood is loved & needed by many people. Bill first had quadruple bypass 18 years ago in December of 2000, The Lord has carried him throughout this illness and now he needs a heart transplant. The family is by his side in Los Angeles Ca. They will be there with him through this time. We don’t know how long this Journey will continue, but we do know "God is in Control!”

The expenses have become heavy on Sharon and the family, they appreciate the continued prayers for Bill and for them. Your Financial Help would be very appreciated. If you are able to give, please help.

God is so Good! He has placed Bill in the care of Professional & Christian doctors that are doing their best to help Bill get well.

We will continue to update you on Bill's progress

Please leave a comment of encouragement for Sister Sharon Underwood and the Underwood Family.

Bro. Bill is now expecting his heart transplant within 48hours of this update. Doctors say his heart is failing quickly.
A Heart Transplant is the biggest & most sensitive Of all Transplants, so Pastors Must rent them an apartment & stay within 5 minutes of the Hospital after his Surgery, untill his Doctors give him the clear.
The Lord has & is really keeping his hand on Bro. Bill has given him Christian Doctors & Staff to keep him going & also Christian's to surround & help them during this Illness & the Miracle that is about to take place with Bro. Bill's health. Expenses are just another issue that Sis. Sharon doesn't need to worry about. Please continue to pray for them all and if you can donate to these living expense while they stay in Los Angeles Ca. It will help them so much. God Bless You All.

Dad will be having to go through physical therapy at a different facility in Los Angeles so that he can regain his mobility back. With his body being week and not being able to eat before and spending a week on the ventilator, his body lost some mobility and he is unable to walk right now.

For the transplant he needs to be able to get back on his feet so they can get him moving around. Also, they will need to make sure that the infection is completely gone from his gallbladder before the transplant surgery. His immune system will be shut down in favor of living with the transplanted heart.

We appreciate everyone who has already helped financially and those have been praying for Dad and the family. The Underwood family wants to wish you all a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

Hi everyone. So dad has been through some pretty rough waters as of late. He is currently awaiting a Heart Transplant, but in the midst of this storm, it has brought many different hurdles. In Bakersfield his Kidneys began to shut down and they said it was related to his week heart. Dad was also complaining of pain in his side and developed infection and the Hospital there told us they didn't know where it was coming from. They were able to get the kidneys stable and better. Fast forward to his stay at Cedars-Sinai and they discover his Gallbladder has stones and is very infected and needs to come out...however, the heart is very week and this becomes a tricky factor here as he can't be recovering from gallbladder surgery if a heart becomes available. So they have performed a procedure where they inserted a tube to drain the infection. He has been looking better since that procedure was done. Today, dad has been sick and they will be doing an x-ray to make sure that everything is draining correctly.

We thank you for your prayers, and your support. We know God will bless everyone of you for it.
