Bill Crane, Jr. Trauma Recovery

In July, Bill Crane, Jr., an honorably discharged U.S. Navy veteran, accidently fell from a forty foot cliff above the Sandy River and suffered multiple traumatic injuries. He is seeking funds here on GoFundMe to pay the expenses that resulted from this accident and help him survive until he can work again.

Those who know Bill know that he has given much of his own time, effort and heart helping others, especially in advocating to protect children, and know that he would only ever seek external funding in dire circumstances.
After being rescued from the remote site along the Sandy River near Sandy, Oregon, Bill was admitted to the Legacy Emanuel Medical Center’s Acute Trauma Care Unit in Portland. He has been released, but still requires ongoing out-patient treatment and physical therapy. Fortunately, Bill is making good progress and is expected to fully recover, but that process is expected to take a full year.
Bill’s injuries included several fractures to his spine, three broken ribs. multiple fractures to his pelvis and a head injury. It was a very serious accident; he was lucky to have survived.
As a result of the accident, Bill has been hit with large medical bills while also losing his ability to work to earn the money to pay those bills. Further, because of his injuries, Bill must change his line of work and retrain for something less physically demanding than the landscaping work he had been doing.
The medical bills from the accident have exhausted Bill’s financial resources. The funds raised by this campaign will go directly towards paying the expenses originating from this accident and to put food on the table for his family. These funds are desperatly needed.
Bill would be eternally grateful to receive support from his extended family and friends, as well as anyone else who is able to help. We love Bill very much and contributing to this fund is a material way we can all help him .
