Biking across Canada for ALS
Hello my name is Kory Dixon and I am trying to bike from Vancouver BC to St Johns NL, to raise funds and awareness for ALS. My grandmother has ALS and I have seen the way it has drastically changed her life and stopped her from doing what she loves. Since I am moving away from her I wanted to give her a great memory as well as raise fund to help with the research into ALS. The funds gathered here will go towards helping me get the proper gear, food and transportation to the starting point. During the actual bike ride there will be events in each major city I pass through to raise money and awareness. I will be leaving April 2nd. Once the ALS society has a link set up for donations to the actual charity I will link it in the description. Thank you all for your help and donations :)+ Read More
Good day all:) so I have some sad news I have been unable to secure enough funds to do this safely. I have talked to some people close to me as well as others who have done similar things, and basically I need to rethink this and find a different solution to getting this done. I do still plan on doing it. It will just take me longer to get started I’m hoping two years maybe three. If you donated and want your money back just let me know and we can set up a way to refund you. Thank you everyone for the support and I won’t stop training or figuring this out. Once I know more I will update you all again :) have a wonderful day.
Hey all just give you an update. Unfortunately I have not been able to make enough yet to do the trip without huge risk. I’ll be waiting until June 1st to make more money for this event. Sorry to all for the delay and hopefully this is the last one and we can start making some money for the ALS society of Canada for ALS research.
Good morning all just throwing an update out. April 2nd is and will remain the new starting date. Since I will be going in April I have decided to start off in Victoria BC. Daily training is going well I’ll be trying to put more photos and videos on Facebook as we go on. Once again I just wanted to say thank you all for everything that had been done so far:)
