Biking across Canada for ALS
Hello my name is Kory Dixon and I am trying to bike from Vancouver BC to St Johns NL, to raise funds and awareness for ALS. My grandmother has ALS and I have seen the way it has drastically changed her life and stopped her from doing what she loves. Since I am moving away from her I wanted to give her a great memory as well as raise fund to help with the research into ALS. The funds gathered here will go towards helping me get the proper gear, food and transportation to the starting point. During the actual bike ride there will be events in each major city I pass through to raise money and awareness. I will be leaving April 2nd. Once the ALS society has a link set up for donations to the actual charity I will link it in the description. Thank you all for your help and donations :)+ Read More
Good morning all just throwing an update out. April 2nd is and will remain the new starting date. Since I will be going in April I have decided to start off in Victoria BC. Daily training is going well I’ll be trying to put more photos and videos on Facebook as we go on. Once again I just wanted to say thank you all for everything that had been done so far:)
Good news everyone! I got the bike helmet and gloves today. I was able to get them at a discount price thanks to Ernie’s in the Fort St John mall. Also once again I would like to thank everyone who has helped in anyway so far!

Thanks so much to everyone who has donated shared and liked this so far. Just wanted to throw an update out and I have been hearing a lot of concerns about potentially biking and sleeping in snow. The type of bike I am getting has wider tires then normal highway bikes to make up for it, as well as I’ll will be getting properly rated gear for being in the cold. If for some reason it gets to cold to sleep at night I can always bike through the night and sleep during the day when the sun is hopefully out. If anyone has any other questions or concerns feel free to ask :)
