The "Big Jig Gig" - constructing the world's biggest jigsaw puzzle.
My name is Graham Andrew of FUNfORCE. I am an entertainer. I have been working as a "giggle doctor" at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital since December 2015 adding some comic relief to parents and child patients awaiting their treatments and operations.
A group of local mums "Holding Hands with our Courageous Children" raised the funds for this to happen. The group believes that having our children smiling and giggling is an important aspect of aiding the children in their journeys to recovery. The sessions have been a fun and helpful distraction to all in the Jenny Lind Wards at the hospital.
Graham, along with a group of close friends and family, is piecing together the world's biggest jigsaw puzzle over a six day period in the summer holidays. This finished piece of art will then be displayed in all it's glory at the hospital for all patients and visitors to view and enjoy. It may also start a tour around other Norfolk venues before coming to rest at the hospital.
The display will be portable and designed specifically for the 33,600 piece "Wildlife" jigsaw puzzle.
The project is Huge! Graham will be approaching local businesses and individuals in the area to see if they would like to come on board and assist with the event.
An electronic book will be displayed along with the finished jigsaw depicting the full story of the Big Jig Gig from start to finish advertising everyone who helped fund and assist the project.
If you would like to help sponsor a piece of the jigsaw for £1 then please donate to our project. Of course you may sponsor more than one piece if you wish.
The event will take place at Stimpson's Piece in Reepham between Sunday 14th and Friday 19th August 2016. It will be open for the public to view. There will be refreshments available and the playground is right outside the venue so please come along and support us!
If we raise enough to cover all costs for the project then surplus funds will be divided between "Holding Hands with our Courageous Children" who fundraise in aid of The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust Charitable Fund - Registered Charity Number 1048170 and the Reepham Nursery (based at Stimpson's Piece) Registered Charity Number 1028915.
