Soccer Balls for Kids in Mindanao

We are increasing our goal for this campaign as we now intend to purchase soccer shoes for the school children of Baroy, Lanao del Norte in Mindanao. We have wired the first $500 to The Football Club of Baroy for the purchase of 50 training soccer balls (approx. $10 each). My hometown, Baroy, is a small community of fun-loving people in central Mindanao near Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro City in the Philippines.

My friends founded the Football Club of Baroy and they do regular clinics and training programs for grade school and high school students. The 50 soccer balls and shoes will help ensure continued training activities for the next two years. This is a school-based program attended by students of the Baroy Central Elementary School and the Lanao del Norte National Comprehensive High School where I finished grade school and high school, respectively.

I'm asking my friends and their friends to donate at least $5 each to help reach this goal. Training is now ongoing as a provincial sports competition is taking place by end of October.

We also accept in-kind donations. If you're in New York or New Jersey, we can arrange to meet up. If you're located somewhere else, I can provide a mailing address. We accept used soccer shoes but of course, brand new ones

Please help me help these children and let's make their dreams come true.

The membership of the Club is now a little over 100 high school and elementary school boys in Baroy and Lanao del Norte.
