Bev Hammond Camp Fire

Bev Hammond was a long time Portola resident before moving last spring to Paradise to be closer to her son. Many know her through her many volunteer activities.   She joined the EPHC Auxiliary shortly after moving to Portola and volunteered at Nifty Thrifty for 19 years and served as Auxiliary President for two years.  Bev was also an active member of Holy Family Church and its altar society.  

Bev was evacuated in the devastating Camp Fire and is unable to return to her home. Her son, Willy and friend Vicky, were able to pick her up before narrowly escaping in bumper to bumper traffic. The fires were burning on both sides of the road, cars were on fire next to them, and burning debris was falling on their car. Fortunately, they made it out and are safe. A generous friend has offered them temporary housing in Sacramento. They are there now, and feeling so very grateful to have a roof over their heads. This is a temporary reprieve, however, as they will have to relocate after the first of the year.

Bev loved her new home and had made many friends.  She does not know where life will take her next but I know she would appreciate any help you can offer to smooth her path.

 We are thankful for any donations, large or small, to help her with living expenses and to replace the necessities she has lost. Thank you in advance for helping her begin again.

Team Hammond consist of Jeanne Carlson and Kathy Davis. We have known and worked beside Bev for many years. The funds will be used by Bev Hammond for housing and replacement of lost items due to the Camp Fire.
