The Etone Jaguars American Football Academy was established in April 2016 giving girls and boys the opportunity to try a sport otherwise unaccessable in their home town.
Starting as a 'free' club on Saturday mornings myself and a collective group of like minded individuals volunteered our time to building what we thought was a very worth while project.
Fast forward 22 months and we have already completed our first season in the BAFNL Youth league and are in full preparartions for season number 2.
Along side this we have expanded our Academy to include U12 and U17 Flag teams to start the transition into tackle football young by learning the skills needed to play the game without the idea of getting hit. Both teams will also be competing in National competition in 2018.
With the club ever expanding and my vision to become one of the best and most viable Academys to join financially offering superb facilities and well cared for and safe equipment for all my young players to use I implore you to help me fulfil this ambition by donating just alittle as I look to upgrade and add to my equipment stores.
If i can reach our goal the club will be able to purchase a new blocking sled meaning the players can spend less time hitting each other and saving their bodies for the games. It will also go towards replacing our old velcro flags to new popper flags as the new league rules demand.
Last year the Academy was awarded the Best Youth Community Sports Team 2017 for Coventry, Warwickshire & Solihull not just for our achievements on the field but for the efforts of the players off the field helping raise money for charities within their local community.
