Uganda 2018

Hello!
So this is my first visit to Uganda. I will be there for a month to get to know the culture and the church that I will be working with when I move over to Uganda. :)

I eventually will be moving over to help start a birthing center in Lira, Uganda so women will have a safe and clean place to have their babies.

The $4000 is broken down like this:
Ticket and Travel: $1500
Housing and Food: $500
Projects: $1000
Visas: $150
Staying 2 extra months: $850
& I am also working and saving to help pay for the trip.

So this is how God has been working in my life regarding Uganda:
When I was 8 or so, my church was sponsoring a girl from Uganda, so that's how I got introduced to the country.
When I was 9, one night I had a dream that I had a big white house and I was taking in women and children and caring for them. When I woke up I started telling my mom that I was going to go to Uganda to start an orphanage and she told me to chill because I was 9.
So my dream and desire to go kind of dwindled over the years simply because the odds of me going to Uganda at that age were very slim..
Back in May, God started giving me the desire to do missions (I kind of always have had the desire, but I started to more and more serious about it at that time.) I have been to Russia and France on short term missions, but I began praying about doing more long-term missions.

I got connected with a church called Calvary Chapel RSM over in Orange County and decided to go to a training program they had in Boca Del Rio, Mexico for about a month or so.

When I went to Boca, I got into a conversation with the pastors fiance and she mentioned that she would be happy to take me to Uganda someday to the church they had planted over there. So, because of this conversation I really started thinking about Uganda again.
I finished the training and because it was really hard, I asked the Lord that if He ever wants me to go and live overseas to be a missionary, He needs to confirm it to me.
October 22nd before church, I was reading in Matthew for my devotions. Something had happened where the Pharisees and scribes had completely missed what God was doing (they completely missed it the entire ministry of Jesus actually and what God was doing) and my prayer was, "Lord please don't let me miss what You have for me. "
That weekend, we had a Ugandan children’s choir called Imani Milele come to our church and perform. T

That morning during the performance about mid-way through I felt the Lord telling me "You have no idea what I have for you, you have no idea what I have for you."
And 9 year old me came out again, and I just had a peace that I was going to go to Uganda.
But I asked God to confirm it because I couldn't just go off of a feeling.
So the next thing I felt God telling me to do was get my Postpartum and Birthing Doula certificates. Briefly, a birth doula is someone who helps a woman through labor, and a postpartum doula is someone who helps the mother after the baby is born with the new baby and with any possible need a mother may need. This certification is international so I can practice anywhere in the world.

I went online and bought my classes and was asking God to show me exactly how I'd use it over there. I wasn't sure if it would be in an orphanage or what...
That following Wednesday I had remembered that the church I went to Mexico through also had planted a church over in Uganda, so I called one of the pastors (Pastor John Kanno) to see how he thought I could use my certification over there and how I could get connected with an orphanage.
During our conversation he proceeds to tell me that they actually have already bought some land and are going to build a birthing center over there and they needed people. He then connected me with the Calvary Chapel pastor over in Uganda (Moses Ouni) and Pastor Moses said that they already have a place for me to live, I just need to pray when to come over and live.

I now am connected with the man who is leading up the birthing center project and he and the pastors at Calvary Chapel RSM are encouraging me to at least visit Uganda for 30 days, so that is what this trip is for.

I am planning (Lord willingly) to move there for two years after Christmas next year.
Please keep me in prayer as I take this leap of faith in what I really believe the Lord is calling me to do.
Thank you and God bless :)
