Beretta's Orthopedic Surgery

Beretta's mommy accidentally bit off two of her toes over grooming her when she was born. I spoke to two different veterinarians about her foot and neither felt it would cause an issue in the future. I put insurance on her within days of getting her. As she has grown, it has become clear that the foot is causing her pain. She limps and favors that foot. I had X-rays done and it appears that one of the abnormal toe stubs is fractured and will need to be removed. I have the highest level of coverage on her but because the toes were taken off early on, it is being considered a pre existing condition and therefore not covered. Her surgery is going to be preformed at Sage by a specialist in order to save as much of her remaining pad as possible. Even with my discount, I am expecting surgery to cost close to $4000. She has a consult on Wednesday. We should find out the extent of the damage and a more precise estimated cost of surgery then.
