Capasso Family Cancer Hope Fund

Donation protected
Benny Capasso has recently been diagnosed with an untreatable, terminal (according to Western medicine) lung cancer which has spread to a chest lymph node.

We believe his only option for treatment is Holistic medicine, even according to his Western medicine doctor. He has been using Phoenix Tears Cannabis Oil for the past few weeks since his diagnosis along with other medicinal herbs, supplements, raw organic juices and diet changes. His oncologist listened to his lungs a few days ago for the first time since he was biopsied and was amazed at how they sounded. He said there was no wheezing and he expected them to sound really bad. This gives us hope that everything they have been doing is already starting to make changes in his body. They are quickly running out of money for treatment as none of this is covered by insurance. The sad thing is medicare would pay thousands for his Chemo/Radiation if that were an option for him, but they won't be able to get any financial coverage for an alternative treatment which will cost considerably less. The cannabis treatment is not cheap and all the herbs, supplements and fresh organic foods they are buying are quickly adding up too. We don't know the future for the Capasso family and what kind of expenses they will be looking at. We are hoping for the best. Right now Benny is very sick and requires 24 hour care by Marcella which makes it very hard for her to take work as she is a freelance food stylist. Isabella has been cared for by Benny while Marcella works and that is also no longer feasible. We have started this fundraiser to ease the financial stress on the family and to help support the only treatment they feel will give Benny a chance at continuing to raise his daughter and be in Marcella's life.

To give you a history on Benny. He was born and raised on 13th street and avenue B to first generation Italian parents. His family later moved to Rosedale, Queens. Benny was born in the 1950's and being in New York City saw many of the great musicians/bands of the time live, such as, Jimi Hendrix opening for the Monkees at Forest Hills Queens 1967 and many others. He became a well known and popular musician, guitar player himself and was part of the 1970's NYC Glam Rock Scene playing in The Brats and The Magic Tramps and many other bands throughout his career as a musician. He was friends with and jammed with many musicians who became famous for their work such as Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of Kiss and Marky Ramone of The Ramones.

Benny in the glam years (top center)

Benny and Marcella married in 2002 after 3 years of courtship and finally had a daughter, Isabella, in 2009. She is now 6 years old. Since 2005 Benny has suffered from COPD and has been on disability. He has always said his COPD was caused by him attending school near ground zero during the year of the September 11th World Trade Center debris removal. At the time of September 11th, 2001 he had one year left at Borough of Manhattan Community College. His school closed down after the attacks and became FEMA headquarters then reopened in mid-October. He returned full-time to finish his Liberal Arts degree and graduated with honors in June of 2002. Everyday he was right next to ground zero breathing in all the horrible dust from the clean-up of ground zero. Benny and Marcella moved to Los Angeles in 2004 and Benny went back to school, disabled and with his oxygen tank in 2008 to receive a Bachelor in Music with an emphasis on Classical Guitar. He graduated again with Honors in June 2013 with the hopes of one day teaching music. His condition has worsened over the years and he has been unable to work.

Benny & Marcella

Marcella's beautiful food styling work

Benny wants to live, especially for his 6 year old daughter who loves him beyond the universe and back.

Although, the scientific evidence behind cannabis as a cure for cancer has been hidden, we believe it can cure him and help him live at least a few more years. He has been told by a Western Doctor that his cancer cannot be eradicated through Chemotherapy and has about 1 year to live if he does nothing, but his Western Doctor also said if he were Benny he would absolutely do the Cannabis Oil Treatment too.

Thank you for your time, good thoughts, kind gestures, caring acts, love and donations.

Sincerely,
Benny, Marcella & Isabella Capasso

Sweet Isabella
