Benjamin Our Warrior

Benjamin is an amazing young man who has been through more in his 16 years, than most of us will live in our lifetime. His love for life, pushes him to fight everyday. Benjamin was seizure free for 13 years, after he had brain surgery at 11 months old. Sadly, Benjamin was assaulted at the age of 13, and two weeks later began having seizures again. After multiple trips to Boston children’s hospital, Benjamin underwent brain surgery in August of 2017 to stop the seizures. Unfortunately, Benjamin went into anaphylactic shock during surgery and doctors had to stop the surgery in hopes that it was enough to end the seizures. I hadn’t stopped. Since then Benjamin’s family has been traveling back and forth to Boston Children’s for testings, medication adjustments, hospital stays, ect. Nothing has helped. These types of seizures will only get worse if left untreated. Benjamin’s case was recently brought to the conference table at Boston Children’s Hospital this past Tuesday. Doctors have concluded that Benjamin’s best outcome will be to have surgery once again. The family will soon be traveling back to Boston for a two part surgery for Benjamin, beginning May 8th, with inpatient recovery, and the second, May 15th. They will be there for 2-3 weeks, as the type of surgery planned will consist of Benjamin being hospitalized between the two surgeries, and then continued inpatient recovery there after for a period of time. Anything will be a tremendous help to this family, as they prepare for this next journey for their son. Thank you so much
