Benjamin Goes to Nationals!

Hello to all of our family and friends!
Our son, Benjamin, 16 and a Sophomore at Coventry HS, just yesterday, placed 2d in Pole Vaulting at New England High School Track & Field Championships in Saco, ME! He vaulted 14'9", which also qualified him for the National Championships in North Carolina this coming Friday! This is a great accomplishment and a great opportunity for Ben to experience competition on a national level. Many college & university coaches are at these events, which would also be a great opportunity for Ben.
Our town of Coventry has had many cuts to the school budget over the last few years, and as many of you may have seen on the recent news, are looking to make cuts, once again, for the new budget starting July 1st. Unfortunately, sports is where many of the cuts have been made and will continue to be made. Thus, with the exception of the entry fee, which we are thankful for them funding, the school cannot help with Ben making this trip to North Carolina.
We are hoping some family and friends can help Ben make this trip on just a few days notice and we can all be part of his competing in the National Pole Vaulting Championships this coming Friday, June 14th. We need to get Ben, a parent and
Ben's vaulting poles to A&T University in Greensboro, NC for this coming Thursday, 6/13, in order to compete on Friday. Any donation to help make this trip happen would be greatly appreciated. Any money over what's needed for this trip will be donated to the Coventry HS Track & Field program.
As many of you know, my Dad, who was also Benjamin, was an accomplished gymnast and avid sports fan. I think our Benjamin has my Dad's beautiful spirit watching over, smiling his twinkling smile and helping to guide his namesake grandson on his athletic journey! Dad, just please help him stay safe on these big jumps!
