Our friend Jim Stivason was in a motorcycle accident September 28th 2018 on Port gamble rd and Lincoln in Poulsbo Washington. A person turned in front of him, his helmet flew off and he was thrown 15ft.  He was airlifted to harborview hospital with multiple head injuries.  He is in critical condition and every rib is broken, he has to have multipul surgerys.  He has his buisness that we don’t want him to lose as well as bills at home that he needs help with. His ex wife Mona has been by his side since the accident and has been going to the hospital everyday which costs money for gas, parking and ferry.  Please everyone if you could help with her expenses and  his bills that need to be paid while he’s in the hospital it would be greatly appreciated.  He will possibly have some brain damage and will be in the hospital for at least 3 months or longer so please help out anyway that you can. Thank you.

Jim is still going to therapy 3 times a week. 1 for mental health and 2 for physical. Each time we visit his co-pay is $30. That doesn't include the other appts, eye doctor, ear doctor and hand surgeon etc........He is still unable to drive or work. Disability doesn’t cover all his medical and household bills. If we had to pay for a caregiver he would be out on the street. Please know that this is going to be a long hard battle for him to recover. Thank you for helping him out. Love and prayers to all.

Update on Jim:
‘I’ finally made an eye doctor appointment on my own for Jim. Doc gave him special drops for the eye that he can’t see out of. Said he thought there might be a slight chance he may get some vision back. Follow up appt on the 22nd. He won’t know until the neurologist does a CT scan of his brain. I also made that appointment for March 20th.
Kaiser finally made a speech therapy appointment which was last Wednesday (45 minutes). She said that he probably will need more intense therapy later than she can give him. (He has 5 more spots with her over the next 6 weeks.
I still haven’t heard back regarding the TBI therapy at Harborview in Seattle. Kaiser told me they were still reviewing that. So I don’t even have a case number to appeal this issue.
I’ve googled online things we can do at home ourselves to help speed his process up. Getting him to do some of them are a feat in itself. lol Thanks again everyone who has made this possible by helping on the Go Fund Me page. Jim is still not receiving medicare or disability at this time, boy the hoops you have to go through when someone else causes your accident. Anyhow Jim doesn’t have a lot of motivation, but doctors said that it could take awhile to return.
But we thank you all for your help and prayers

Update; As of December 18, 2018 our friend, Jim Stivason that was in the motorcycle accident in Poulsbo on September 28, 2018 has come a long way. He’s doing okay, still confused and talks about things that never happened. He’s ready to move on to the next step in his recovery, so please if anyone could help Mona and Jim with there expenses while he’s recovering it would be greatly appreciated. Mona still travels to kindred care in Seattle on first hill to be with Jim everyday. Mona’s been working with Jim to get his memory back, being that this place he’s in doesn’t do TBI rehab. Jim wants to come home (and go out side to smoke a lemon cigar) but he’s not ready yet. They have to evaluate his brain to see if anything has changed from the last MRI. Jim needs 24/7 care, maybe for the rest of his life. It’s all up in the air right now. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!!!

Update on Jim. Today we had a good day. He was able to shower on his own with me standing by making sure he didn't fall. He also shaved on his own.
Jim didn't know exactly what had happened to him. He said that somebody that visited him and told him he was in a motorcycle accident and he totaled his bike. The doctor told me not to tell him and let him remember on his own. He asked me if that was true so I told him yes. I told him that when he fell and hit his head he had fractured his skull and broke all his ribs He said is that why I feel like this part here, pointing at his forehead, is swollen
and feels like it's going to fall off. I told him the bone has healed itself so you don't have to worry about that, that bone was healing. They are just trying to help him heal his brain.
He said he was fine with that and thanked me for staying by his side. There's no other place I'd rather be.
I let him know that he is healthy just a little confused sometimes When he confuses thing he's trying to be patient with himself. It's cute. I made him play Scrabble with me today. Good for thlnking!

We're still waiting on an ok from the right rehab place location. I'll keep you posted Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the prayers
