Belle's Brain Battle

Donation protected
When my daughter, Annabelle, was 21 years old she fell down a cellar trap door in the pub where she was working. She was taken by ambulance on a back support board to Taunton Musgrove Hospital. In the next few months she developed chronic migraines and cluster headaches and was also diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia. (This is the most painful condition in the body's nervous system and is also know as 'The Suicide Disease' mimicking stroke type symptoms plus extreme pain).
This causes sudden pain attacks and several times she has collapsed in the street and had to be taken to hospital by her friends for treatment.
Annabelle takes a wide variety of medications, DIY injections, oxygen therapy and lidocaine patches to help with the stabbing pain in her face. She also goes to the hospital every 3 months to have 33 Botox injections into her neck, scalp and shoulders to help in the prevention of chronic migraines. All of this has taken its toll on her body and resulted in her now suffering from fibromyalgia as well.

Her next treatment is a stay in the Great Ormond Street's National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, where they will administer Intravenous Dihydroergotamine (IV DHE) every 8 hours 3 times a day for 1 – 2 hours. The University College London Hospital is the only one in the U.K licensed to prescribe the treatment of this medicine.

Annabelle will be in hospital for up to 3 weeks and this is why I have set up this page, as her Mother, I know her financial situation as firstly she is self employed and will not have any sick pay to cover loss of earnings from her nails business and as a musician. Also she will need ongoing treatment and this will mean further trips up to London again.

As Annabelle has to stay up there so long, both her husband & I want to be able to go up and support her where possible. Also she can't travel there and back on her own.

Things I am hoping for financial assistance to aid her with:

Train travel to London and back

Parking at Tiverton

Travel from the train station using the Underground to get to the hospital

Staying in a hotel (due to visiting hours its hard to go up and back in one day from Devon) for immediate family visits

Necessary food and drinks expenses

TV & Wifi costs in the hospital

Loss of earnings  for 3 weeks due to Annabelle being self employed and gets no sick pay

Annabelle has just received her appointment letter and will be attending treatment in May. I am hoping to fund raise throughout April to relieve the financial burden to make her stay in hospital as stress free as possible.

I want to thank everybody in advance for sharing and helping me spread this message.
