I am the type of person who never asks for help from anyone but currently I am in a situation where I am needing help in a big way.
As most of you are aware myself, two of my children and one of my sons friends were involved in a major MVA (motor vehicle accident) on Thursday 6th December 2018.
We were stopped on the M1 and a driver behind us was not watching and hit us at extremely high speed which caused us to all be injured.
I have sustained broken ribs, massive trauma swelling to the stomach and major bruising, my son has sustained massive injuries (fractured skull which required emergency surgery Thursday night and also a C4 fracture to his back), concussion, whiplash and bruising, my daughter sustained whiplash, bruising and concussion and my sons friend sustained a head laceration, concussion and bruising.
QPS etc have all said they don’t know how the four of us aren’t dead.
As most of you are aware I am a single parent who works my arse off day in and day out to provide for my family and keep a roof over our heads.
As a result of this accident I have already had to miss five days of work as I am in major pain and also ensuring my kids are ok.
I will also be unable to have anymore time off due to me being casual and not being paid for sick days etc.
So I will be having to go to work with broken ribs and also having to leave my son with his sisters at home when he is discharged instead of being able to help him.
His recovery period is going to be 6 months.
I have already employed the services of a solicitor to sue the negligent driver who hit us but as you are all aware his could take up to four years to gain any monetary gain to help with loss of wages.
My daughters car was also only insured for third party not comprehensive so I will also be having to get her another car so she can go to her part time work so she doesn’t lose her employment.
So like I said and everyone who knows me knows I don’t ask for help as I’m too proud etc and do it on my own but this circumstance has arisen where I am stressed out and injured as well and I really could use a hand to get back on my feet and to make Xmas a good time for my kids as well.
We were on our way to scooter get at Springwood at the time of the accident to get my son a new scooter as he sold his XBOX one the day before so he could get a new scooter (we never made it obviously)
i am just grateful that Someone was watching over us and that we are still here.
