Evan Carpenter Memorial Fund
On January 18th, 14-year-old Evan Carpenter suffered a sudden brain aneurysm at home and stopped breathing. His father performed CPR while his younger brother called 9-1-1. After arriving at the hospital Evan fell into a coma and suffered a pulmonary edema. Surgeons at the Victoria General Hospital performed a double craniotomy which he survived. Evan then preceded to fight for 26 hours but tragically lost his battle. On the morning of January 20th he was pronounced brain dead. Evan’s parents made the decision to donate his organs so that their incomprehensible loss could become his incredible legacy. Evan saved many lives and is the true definition of a superhero. Please consider becoming an organ donor in your area so that one day we can all #BeLikeEvan
If you would like to make a donation, all funds will go towards covering the cost of Evan’s funeral and supporting his family. Any remaining funds will be donated to a charity in Evan’s memory. I am Evan's uncle and will be withdrawing the funds on Elissa & Scott's behalf and then transferring the funds to them and whomever else I am asked to. Thank you so very much for your support.
Thankyou crystal walls for your kind donation, and for the words of encouragement
This family has been in my thoughts since the day I met his mother at the hospital while I was on my coffee break. She was visibly upset, showed me a picture of her son and told me her story. A story as a mother you never want to hear. I could only imagine the pain and heartache she was feeling and it was so visible on the outside. I could not even imagine the pain that she was feeling on the inside. Something she said to me stuck out so vividly "Today we are donating Evan's organs. I am just glad that 6 other people will be able to use them and their mothers will never have to go through this." I am so so sorry for this families loss and I hope they find strength in all the memories that they shared during Evan's short life. Thank you for supporting Evan with being able to give the gift of life to 6 other people and families through organ donation. A piece of him will live on in each and everyone of them. As a person who's uncle received a kidney 20 years ago from a donor I thank you and Evan. RIP Evan and to his family and friends, please find strength and support in eachother ❤
