Pencak Silat (aka Sport Silat) is poised to emerge as the next up and coming sport in the United States. Already popular on the world stage, the most recent world championships featured over 700 athletes from 78 countries. This sport showcases the uniqueness of this Southeast Asian martial art with events that include sparring, forms and choreographed fighting. Having a strong USA presence will do much to bolster Sport Silat internationally and domestically.
This year from April 25-28, 2019, we plan to send the USA Pencak Silat Pioneer team to the Belgium International Open. This is the largest tournament in the Western Hemisphere, and each of our athletes is dedicated to representing the USA and understand all the responsibilities that come in wearing our flag.
They are excited to be the USA's ambassadors to sport silat, but they need your help! There are many expenses that are associated with the team traveling internationally. Beyond their time training, our athletes have been doing everything in their power to raise funds whether it be working extra hours at their jobs, holding community fundraisers, or even donating plasma. Still the team is looking for support from their friends, families, colleagues and community to make this a reality.
While we understand that there are many causes asking for your attention, this is an opportunity to build the foundation and promote a sport that places a value on character first and foremost.

$100 - Personalized shoutout from the Belgium Invitational on Social Media
$200 - 30 minute one-on-one Sport Silat lesson (online or in-person depending on geography)
$500 - 90 minute one-on-one Sport Silat lesson (online or in-person depending on geography)
