Beauty Against Breast Cancer

Donation protected
My name is Isabella and I’m turning 12 on November 30th. Since I was 9, I have been donating my birthdays to charity and asking for donations instead of gifts. Because of your generosity, I was able to raise thousands of dollars for our local animal shelter, St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and Charity Water.

This year, my mom and I have been talking a lot about cancer. Both, my great-grandmother and my grandmother were stricken with this terrible illness. Even our next door neighbor, who has become a close friend is a breast cancer survivor. Cancer is scary and it affects all of us because so many people get sick. I want to help.

My mom is a nutrition and life coach, who helps people get healthier and feel better by teaching them how to eat better and avoid toxic chemicals in their life.  She is also a Director at Beautycounter, a company that makes beauty and personal care products without dangerous chemicals that could cause cancer.

This year, we decided to do something more personal, so my mom and I came up with the idea of doing something special for women who are fighting breast cancer and undergoing chemotherapy at Englewood Hospital.

We are putting together totes of safer beauty products and information to raise awareness about the dangers of harmful chemicals that people put on their skin every day, especially women.  These chemicals are in everything we use, like shampoo, soap, makeup, and even toothpaste.  We have to be more careful about what we put on our bodies or we may get sick too. My mom says that most people don’t know this so we have to make sure they do.

WHAT’S IN THE TOTE

- 8 mini-sized luxury products (at cost!)

- An educational pamphlet to raise awareness about the many dangerous chemicals in the products we use in our homes and how to avoid them

- A Get Well card from me and each one of you that includes the names of everyone who donated and any message of love, hope, and support that you will be helping to feel beautiful and loved.

WHAT WE ARE DOING
- We are buying all the Beautycounter products at cost, so my mom will not be making any commissions from your donations.

- My mom is donating 50% of her  Beautycounter commissions from today until 11/30 to funding these totes, so if you buy Beautycounter products for yourself or others through her website, you will also be donating to this cause. Her website is: www.beautycounter.com/victoriagregory

- We will put these totes together by hand and personally deliver them to Englewood Hospital by Christmas so that they can be distributed among the women who are fighting breast cancer and undergoing chemo. We hope we can help them feel beautiful, teach them the importance of using safer products, and make them smile.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
The cost of each gift tote is $35, but whether it’s $5 or $500, no amount is too small. Please donate whatever you can and we will keep you informed of how many totes we have put together thus far and how many we will have delivered. We will be accepting donations until December 10th.

If you make a donation over $200, my mom will send you a FREE full size Beautycounter product. You can email her with your shipping address at [email redacted].

We hope that with your help we will be able to deliver at least 100 totes, but maybe even more.

Thank you for donating to my cause and helping me make my birthday wish come true.
