Beat Breast Cancer With Carrie
Donation protected
I've had several people contacting me where they can donate because they are unable to attend Carries Barrel Race benefit on . May 13.
I had a very good friend suggest that I should set up
GO Fund Me . so here it.
Per the requirement of Go Fund Me, I had to enter a amount. So the amount is just because I needed it.
Here's Carrie's Story :
My name is Carrie Obenrader and am seeking out treatment for triple negative breast cancer. In October of 2016 I found a lump in my breast which was ultrasounded and biopsied. On November 8, 2016 I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I had a pet scan performed showing 1 axillary lymph node and mass in right breast area of concern. I had port placed and began chemo in the end of November. I received adriamycin and cytoxan every other week for 4 cycles. MRI was completed to check size of tumor. Tumor actually grew. At this time it was decided to perform bilateral mastectomies and axillary dissection due to disease progression. Jan 31, 2017 I had the procedure and recovered great. At exactly 4 weeks post procedure, I began chemo again. I received weekly taxol and carboplatin every third. I received 4 taxol and 2 carbo total befote I noticed last Friday I an enlarged area at my right supraclavicular lymph node. Had an ultrasound performed that day. Without a great deal certainly of what it was exactly a Ct with contrast was performed on Monday. CT showed several enlarged lymph nodes in right supraclavicular chain. I am scheduled for pet scan this Thursday for disease progression. I am seeking out medical treatment elsewhere. My current breast oncologist has never seen a patient that has not responded to 4 chemo agents, which is very concerning to me.
She had a PET scan done today (03-31-2017) that showed it is In more nodes nothing distal. Brain was not included in the pet scan. It's in my mammary nodes, axillary nodes, supraclavicular and intraclaviculis. She has an appointment Thursday April 6th in Houston Texas to see a triple negative cancer specialist. The money raised will be for the many trips to Texas, cost to stay and treatment.
Thank you to everyone who comes to the barrel race and the help and sponsors
we will be selling for Carrie shirts are $15 each.
Center for Bone and Joint disease from Hudson Florida has graciously put up the 2,000 added to this Barrel Race.
