Beard Shave for Charity

Hey guys! My name is Ian Wexell and I am a teacher in the city of Chicago. This past October, I started growing my "playoff beard", hoping that it would bring my Chicago Cubs some luck. As we all know, the good-luck charm worked, and they went on to win the World Series. I then decided to keep the beard as a celebration, turning it from a playoff beard into a "victory beard". 4 months later, the beard still lives on....
Since the beard is in honor of the Cubs, I wanted to use this unique opportunity to support some of the players that have brought this community so much hope and joy. That is why I have partnered with our Student Council to bring you: the BEARD SHAVE FOR CHARITY.
My goal is to raise as much money as possible for the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation . This is a great charity that was founded by Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo, after he fought his own battle with cancer. The foundation raises money for cancer research and provides support to children and their families fighting the disease. More information about the charity can be found at the link above.
I would love your support!!! In addition to donations collected here at our school, I have started this "gofundme" with the goal of raising at least $1,000 for the foundation.
Here are the "rules" of the charity drive:
*students must raise at least $1,000 before February 14th. If they do not reach their goal, the money is donated anyways, and the beard gets to live on.
*when the goal is met, the students will then vote on which ridiculous facial hair pattern I have to shave my beard into:
regular mustache, handlebar mustache, mutton chops (sideburns/mustachce combo) or a full goatee.
*I will then shave into whichever style received the most votes. The more money that is raised, the longer I have to keep the facial hair. (Ex.: if $1,000 is raised, I will keep the facial hair for the rest of the day. If $1,500 is raised, I have to keep it for the rest of the week, and so on.)
*If $5,000 is raised, I will keep the facial hair for the rest of the month!!!
*Donors on here can also participate in the voting - just leave a comment with your choice of facial hair after you donate ;)
