Be Like Jimmy Rosa

Let me introduce you to my good friend Jimmy Rosa.  I've known Jimmy since 1991 when I was hired as a First Officer at Commutair in Plattsburgh, NY.   Whenever you meet Jimmy for the first time it immediately becomes apparent that this is a special man.  This man has touched my life and many others in ways we could never have imagined.  He taught me how to be a good Captain ( I hope... If not, I simply didn't follow his example), and many others I'll bet.  More importantly he leads by example by being a great friend, husband, father, human being.  Jimmy was formerly a Captain for Spirit Airlines but recently medically retired after the prostate cancer he has fought successfully for years has spread to his bones.   His medical insurance has been dropped and he now is in the process of getting more insurance on his own.  In the meantime he has skipped his treatment for May due to cost. The chemo shot alone costs 2800.00 and I'm sure it's not advisable to miss many of these for his treatment regime.  That's why I'm appealing to you now for donations to help Jimmy pay for these treatments and the other medical costs he has while fighting this ugly disease.  We all know people fighting this demon we call cancer and we know it takes a village to help.   Jimmy is one of the most caring and beautiful persons that I have ever met.  I have seen him give to others beyond the capacity of most.  I have seen him sacrifice more than he was capable yet always keep that smile and infectious laugh all the while NEVER asking anyone for anything.  Truly a moral compass for us all to live by.  Hence the need for us to step up and help.  The need for us to give back to a man who has given more than we could ever imagine in that his son was killed in Afghanistan.  So let's go, dig deep and let's keep that laugh going!!  Let's blow him out of the water and Be Like Jimmy!!   #BeLikeJimmy
