Basay National HS March 1 Vehicular Accident

Vehicular accident happened early morning of March 1, 2019 involving 10 stduents and a teacher-coach of Basay National High School.

Unfortunately, the tragic incident claimed the the lives of 11th graders Christian Buenconsejo, Joshua Busmeon, twin sisters Cherry Ann and Cherry Rose Cadusale and the youngest Kevin Aguilar, a Grade 7 student.

Survivors Willie Chua, Jessie Mae Sabanal and teacher John Mark Prestin are recuperating at the Silliman University Medical Center (SUMC). On the other hand, Elmar Toquero remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Meanwhile, Justine Generoso is getting better at the ICU of Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital (NOPH) through the efforts of doctor-volunteer thoracic specialist, Dr. Primo Gaudiel.

James Bagarinao was brought in at the operating room of NOPH, for another operation.

The Department of Education through the Schools Division of Bayawan and Basay National High School is currently initiating fund campaign for the medical bills of learners who are still in the hospital. As of today, collective bill is already 350,000.
