Bart needs help!!!
Bart had a horrific fall earlier in March. He has two broken arms and a dislocated right hip. A Good Samaritan found Bart crawling towards his front porch. He contacted Cat Nap Lodge (a small non profit 501(c)(3) cat rescue located in Richland, MI. ) for help. X rays show that Bart needs extensive orthopedic surgery to repair his legs so that he can walk again.
According to his orthopedic surgeion, he has three separate orthopedic injuries that would each likely require surgical fixation to have a reasonable chance at success and normalcy for him in the long term. The right humeral and left ulnar (monteggia) fractures would need to be plated, and the dislocated left hip treated via FHO. The major challenge of the fractures is chronicity and displacement, which makes repair more difficult although not impossible.
The estimate for the surgery is between $6,500 and $7,500!
