Barossa Wildlife Rescue

Donation protected
My name is Rose Brooks and I am a registered wildlife carer in Lyndoch, South Australia.  As a little tacker I was forever bringing home injured or orphaned animals to look after.     17 years ago I was given my first joey to raise, who I named Bunty.   A farmer had found this little joey in the pouch of the mother kangaroo that was deceased on the side of the road and I was able hand raise Bunty.  Since then I have been caring for other injured or orphaned wildlife such as possums, echidna’s, other kangaroos, koalas, birds …  if it has a heartbeat, it is worth a go!  I average between 70-90 rescues or callouts each year – most of them I have been able to nurse back to health and either release back in the wild or find a home for them at other homes or wildlife sanctuaries.   Many are still in my care and can never be released back into the wild so I do everything I can to give them quality of life.  I don’t receive any government assistance or funding and rely solely on public donations, which I receive mainly from people who bring animals to me.   Any donations will be put towards food, veterinarian expenses, electricity bills (the infant animals require constant heat) as well as repairs to fencing and enclosures.    Your generosity and support will go a long way to ensure these animals all have a fighting chance of survival.   Thank you so very much!
