In Debt to the Nut Hut

My name is Dana.  In March 2014 I experienced a psychiatric crisis which resulted in hospitalization a mere 2 weeks before my new employer's insurance took effect.  During that hospitalization I was diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder, and later a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder was added.

In the course of 2014 I had three additional hospital stays which weren't fully covered by insurance, and at the end of the year I was forced to quit my job as I was unable to handle the stress any longer.  After 6 months of unemployment, during which I continued to accumulate bills for individual and group therapy, I finally found another job but was hired on an occasional basis, meaning I am only guaranteed one day per week.

I was making regular payments on my bill at Community Mental Health Center, but missed paying for a couple of months when money was tight and now they are in the process of sending me to collections.  Every dollar raised will get me one step closer to no longer having that debt looming over my head.  If any additional funds are raised they will be split evenly between saving toward moving out on my own and donations to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) .
