My mom raised three boys on her own, which today is not so uncommon a story. We, at times, were not the most understanding of her plight. For my own part, I often cost her money, peace of mind, and probably caused her to doubt if I’d even live to adulthood.
Through the common and uncommon challenges, my mother always worked two and sometimes three jobs to make ends meet, keep us fed and clothed, and housed. She did all this, of course for the love of her three sons. Traditionally, she’s not been the best at asking for help.
She’s now sick with breast cancer. At first, she tried to do this, too, all by herself. Furthermore, she’s opted to pursue “alternative” methods of treatment, which is the definition for anything besides chemotherapy. More details on this below.
If you’re my friend, my mom’s friend, know us, or know of us, I’m asking for help. My mom has a lot more good to do in her life, and I’d like to make every opportunity possible available to her in that regard. She’s shown great progress in her recovery and needs money to continue in this progress.

Standard Chemotherapy treatment takes a great toll on the physical body and can be devastating. Barbara has been working hard to fight cancer through alternative medicine, including Gerson Therapy and Isell's Method. She is also consulting her doctors about CyberKnife , which is a new method of radiation therapy, involving a very localized dose of radiation administered with laser precision so as not to damage surrounding tissue.
In December, Barbara and her son Trevor travelled to Playas de Tijuana, Mexico to the CHIPSA Hospital for Enhanced Gerson and Advanced Immunotherapy. She stayed for 23 days of intensive treatment and since then has been working on her own in Reno to follow her treatment plan. We are asking for your support to continue Barbara’s fight against breast cancer in a new way.
In Gerson Therapy the patient is prescribed an organic, plant-based diet of raw juices, coffee enemas and other natural supplements. For the Issels portion of her non-toxic immunotherapy treatment, Barbara has received an intensive course of nutritional supplementation and specialized vaccines. She has been working very hard to maintain a solid diet and follow the strict parameters of her treatment regimen. It takes a lot of time and energy to maintain a consistent supply of raw juice and healthy, organic food, and she is doing all she can to fight this disease.
Barbara plans on pursuing treatment with Dr. Forsythe of Reno, NV. for her next stage of treatment. The CyberKnife method of radiation treatment delivers a precise and heavy amount of radiation targeted to the tumor only, minimizing the detrimental effects of radiation therapy on the rest of the body. CyberKnife for Breast Cancer, or “Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation” is intended to prevent Breast Cancer recurrence. We hope that with this portion of the treatment, in addition to all of Barbara’s hard work in maintaining her supplementary regimens, Barbara can close the chapter of this fight and continue to lead a happy and healthy life.
