Barbara Young's Medical Fund

Barbara Young is a wonderful mother and wife to her husband Joe Young. On January 2nd, Mom had a stroke that impaired her right side and speech. A few days later (February 3rd), my 88-year-old father and her husband of almost 63 years, Joe Young, passed away. Mom is currently in therapy at a local skilled nursing facility and is making progress on relearning to use her weak limbs and speech.

When Mom comes home from therapy in a few weeks, she will be coming home to a bathroom that is not able to correctly support a disabled person. She needs a walk-in tub with a seat and bars, a special toilet, and a remodeling of the bathroom to add a wider door for wheelchair access and bars on the walls for stability while standing.

Mom has a limited income that will not support the costs of fully remodeling the bathroom for disability access. Additionally, Dad's life insurance canceled at age 85 (too old) and mom now has to bear the costs of the final expenses for my father's burial.

Instead of buying flowers for our father's funeral, if you would be willing to help with a small donation, Mom (and family) would be very grateful. Any funds raised will be used to offset Dad's final expenses and Mom's immediate medical needs.
