Banetsi's Mobile Counselling Centre

Overview

Township Parents and Children Counselling Centre (TPCCC) was established in 2015 as the Cape Township Parents and Children Counselling Centre to provide counselling, rehabilitation, mental health education and psychosocial support to children and their families. In the past two years we have gone from strength to strength. Our services have extended through the townships of Khayelitsha, Mfuleni, Phillippi and Mitchells Plain, and we still intending to spread to other townships through our mobile psychology clinic, further than that we working towards reaching people in rural areas through tele-counselling.
In line with modern child and family care philosophy, mental health act and children’s act of South Africa, the strengthening, preservation and restoring families is the main focus of our services to the previously disadvantaged communities. Early detection and intervention into challenges experienced by children and their families is vital in capacity building for the community and families to alleviate substance abuse, trauma caused by crime and mental health stigmatisation.
TPCCC is serviced by five volunteers (two psychosocial supporters, two social work interns and one registered counsellor). As an organisation we are driven by passion. The founder Andreas Banetsi Mphunga is funding the entire project by himself, ensuring that all the stakeholders are given quality services at no cost.

Our vision is to restore families. we work towards building a community that is substance free and crime free, also ensuring that we groom young resilient citizens to leader the black communities to be mental health friendly and embracing the spirit of Ubuntu.

Let us work jointly to make this possible, and create a mentally and mutually stable Mzantsi Afrika and the rest of Afrika will be next.
