Baloo was a stray brought to the Palm Valley Animal Center in Edinburg, TX on 5/22. He was due to be euthanized 5/23 at 4pm.
Since that time - I've arranged for vet care, transport, and adopter.
PVAC does not have an onsite veterinarian, so Baloo had not received medical treatment until this morning.
The morning of 5/24 at 8:15 - will be taken to his first vet appointment to get treated for his severe skin condition, and leg paralysis which is being caused by his severe state of malnutrition.
After his vet appointment - he will be held by a dog sitter at her home until the transporter can pick him up and take him to his new home in South Carolina.
I am paying for this all out of pocket - and would appreciate any donations to help pay for the treatment/transport of this severely neglected dog. He will be going to a new home in rural South Carolina and will have an amazing life.
Transport: $1000
Vet: Unsure at the moment - but guessing a minimum of $500. This would be best case scenario. Dependent upon the state of his back legs, it may cost several thousand.
The important thing is - this dog has been saved by the help of numerous volunteers. I am amazed at what people can accomplish when working together. This took coordination from the PVAC, the adopter, Valley Animal Hospital, Jose Flores (transporter,) and Liza Wright (dogsitter.)
