Bailey’s med costs for his front leg amputation

Donation protected
Bailey went missing from our home on April 6.  On May 6 he was found by a Pine County Sheriff's dispatcher (I have yet to learn her name and express my gratitude) with his paw in an unidentified trapper's snare.  He was starving, dehydrated and near death.  He had been in the snare approximately one week and his trapped paw had died and appeared mummified.  His wound was through to his bone on all sides.  I won't post those photos because they are so bad that you can't "unsee" them once you see them.  Bailey is such a friendly and social people's dog that he licked the hands of the deputies freeing him from his tortuous snare and wanted to interact with all of the ppl involved in his care and recuperation. His leg has been amputated up to and including his shoulder.  He is on a very strict, calorie controlled diet to avoid re-feeding syndrome.  His condition has been upgraded from critical to serious but guarded.  Tonight when his 'boys,' my grandsons, got off their school bus he actually got excited and barked his welcome to them. He is my definition of a hero.
