I am a writer.  
I've been stringing words together for others since I was a child.

After sharing my written work on my blog  for 8 years, I published my first book - Type Onederland: Finding Hope in the Hard Places .  Since then I have also written a Bible Study - Uncharted: Lessons from the Life of Peter and am in the final stages of editing a new book called 'begin.'    

What began as a love of words has become my life's work.  My writing has evolved into a ministry.  In addition to books and blogs, I have organized gatherings, launched groups and hosted events, providing support to thousands of people who share my desire to live a life of passion and purpose.  Over the past year I have sensed God calling me to take the next step - the launch of a publishing company,
Back Porch Press.

I want you to be a part of this!

Back Porch Press  will be based in my hometown of Clemson, South Carolina, where we will publish books that align with my vision to uncover beauty and truth in the everyday in an honest and hopeful way.  

Back Porch Press will be a platform for telling my stories and the stories of others through books and videos.  As we share our own stories we will find ourselves more deeply connected to God's greater story.

All of the books will be crafted, edited, printed, and bound right here in the United States.  Keeping this process local will allow for greater quality control and will also support jobs in our community.  

I love the idea of a publishing company that feels like family!  I want to be able to shake hands with the folks who run my pages through the press, sit down to coffee with my graphic designer, and hug my sales manager. I want to give my readers top quality products, as well as insight into the behind-the-scenes of book publishing.

In order to take this giant next step I need your help in the form of donations to fund the start-up costs for printing, publishing and marketing.   I invite you to become part of the Back Porch Press family, and in doing so, part of the extended ministry I envision for our family. 

Back Porch Press is more than a publishing company.  It is a community.  A community of people who believe God can change lives through the connections we make with each other and with Him.  For us, those connections begin with words on a page or a screen and extend into every aspect of our lives.  

With every book published there will be
groups launched and
videos recorded and 
events scheduled and 
people served and 
stories told and
friendships made and
lives changed.
